Prevention Summary: Piikani Child and Family Services (CFS)'s Prevention Program - Koko`nnooni "Our Home" fills an essential role in our community by providing services that promote the development and well-being of Piikani children, youth, and families. The primary focus of the Prevention - Koko`nnooni "Our Home" is strengthening the family to stay together by providing and connecting families to supports and services that empower the family. The Prevention Program - Koko`nnooni "Our Home" is built on the philosophy that the care, protection, and well-being of Piikani children is the responsibility of the entire Piikani Nation. On behalf of the Piikani CFS, we invite those who access the Prevention Program - Koko`nnooni "Our Home" to work with us on our common goals, incorporating the following values:
- Mookaahksiin (Commonsense) – We will think critically and act reasonably with our children's and families' best interests in mind;
- Ainnnakowa / Inna'kotsiiysin / Aaini'yimma (Respect) – We are respectful of the dignity and individual nature of the people;
- Okamo'tsitatiipi (Honesty) – We are truthful in all our decisions and actions;
- Kimmapiiyipitsini (Caring) – We are compassionate and care for our children and families;
- Ninnayawa / Akaa'tsismon (Accountability) – We are responsible and accountable, in a manner that advocates for our children, family and communities.
